What makes the news banner look work
A banner behind each line makes text readable on any photo, because the text no longer touches the photo at all. That's why news channels use it.
Change the banner to a rounded label in the Banner tab for a softer look, or to yellow with black letters for 'update' and 'alert' titles.
Tips
- Condensed fonts (Oswald, Barlow Condensed, Teko) fit long headlines on the banner.
- Two short lines read better than one long one: press Enter in the title to split it.
- News style works well for Hindi, Urdu and Bangla news channels: switch the language and the banner follows the script.
In your language
The news banner effect is drawn from the letters' own shapes, so it works in every script on the site. Switch the language above, or type in your script, or start from a language page: Hindi, Marathi, Nepali, Punjabi, Bangla, Assamese, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Sinhala, Urdu, Arabic, Persian.
