ThumbFont is the font step of making a thumbnail, done properly. Type your title once and see it in every font at the same time, styled the way thumbnails are styled, at the size YouTube really shows it.
Why it exists
Picking a thumbnail font usually means trying fonts one by one in an editor. It's worse if you make videos in Hindi, Bangla, Tamil, Urdu or Sinhala: most tools don't offer fonts for your script at all, and the ones that do often break the letters. ThumbFont shows 85 free fonts across 16 languages, checks that each one really draws your letters, and gives you a PNG that's shaped correctly in any app.
Who makes it
ThumbFont is built and run by Anuj Maurya, a web developer. I design, build and look after the site myself, including checking every font's license before it's added.
What we promise
- Only fonts you're allowed to use: every one is open-source and free for commercial use. See fonts and licenses.
- No sign-up, and nothing uploaded. Previews and PNGs are made in your browser.
- No paid fonts, and no “free download” copies of paid fonts. Ever.
