What makes the embossed look work

The bevel finish lights the inside edge of every letter facing the top left and shades the edge facing the bottom right, so the letters look pressed up out of the surface.

It works with any colour, and with gradients: pick Bevel in the Colour tab with any style.

Tips

  • Heavy fonts (Archivo Black, Bowlby One, Titan One) have wide strokes, so the bevel shows. Thin strokes have no room for it.
  • Mid-tone colours (red, blue, green) show both the light and the shade. White hides the light; black hides the shade.

In your language

The embossed effect is drawn from the letters' own shapes, so it works in every script on the site. Switch the language above, or type in your script, or start from a language page: Hindi, Marathi, Nepali, Punjabi, Bangla, Assamese, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Sinhala, Urdu, Arabic, Persian.
